About Your Waydown Riverkeepers Hut Stay
Your Riverkeepers Hut
About the Riverkeepers Hut History
Our Waydown Riverkeepers Hut is modelled on a French Hut spotted by the Loire river in central France and used by the river keeper for overnight accommodation.
Our bespoke Waydown Riverkeepers Hut is seagrass in colour and arrived in 2014. Made for us to order by the same craftsman who hand built all four of our Huts as well as the Kitchen Hut.
The Waydown Riverkeepers Hut is set by the Ancient Woods and has French style double doors on the side, which open out onto the ancient wood that surrounds our small Waydown family site and has a porch over the top of the doors.
Inside the Waydown Riverkeepers Hut there is a double bed with all bed linen and towels provided with a table and chairs plus a French dresser unit with cutlery & crockery, and for the colder months it has the benefit of an oiled filled electric radiator plus a wood burning stove with kindling, firelighters and logs provided.
Outside the Waydown Riverkeepers Hut is a patio with table and chairs and a BBQ ( bring your own coals ) plus a brick-built fire pit with a sack of split logs provided to create a warm evening atmosphere.
Whether you’re exploring the beautiful English South Downs, enjoying the coastal charm of Brighton, or simply relaxing in your private oasis on the Waydown site, our Waydown Riverkeepers Hut Lodge is the perfect base for your short break holiday in the South of England on the South Downs Way.
